Tips to be Productive While Working From Home

Written by Krista Robertson | 4/14/20 3:45 PM

These simple tricks are great ways to stay productive while working from home! These five proven steps will make you more productive while we all practice social distancing.

Start Your Morning by Moving Your Muscles

It's easy to hop out of bed, open your laptop, and roll straight into the workday, but instead set your alarm for 30 minutes earlier than needed so you can go for a quick walk, run, or bike ride! It'll do wonders to help you have energy throughout the day.

Set Up Your Workspace

It's essential to set up a space that is dedicated to working. That means you want a spot where you can comfortably work, away from distractions. If you don't have a desk, then consider using your dining room table. Avoid the couch so that you can keep that space for decompressing.

Dress to Impress

This simple act of switching out of your sweats is a real game changer! This is primarily to help get you into the right mindset to conquer the day. Then, at the end of the day, you can go back to those favorite PJs while you're relaxing!

Take Regular Breaks throughout the Day

Taking breaks is essential to having a productive day, meaning step away from the screens! Take an hour lunch break to cook something yummy or support small businesses by ordering something from a local restaurant that is delivering. Even if you finish lunch early, take another moment to step outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Stay Virtually Connected with Teammates, Family, and Friends

Feeling isolated is a natural side effect of working from home, but with so many technology tools available, you can connect virtually for free! FaceTime is one of the most popular for one-on-one calls, but you can also create free accounts with platforms like Zoom to communicate with your whole team.
